INDIANA: Saturday, July 28 - Sunday, July 29

Gretchen Zahm, Fort Wayne: July 28 - 29

I had an AMAZING time visiting Gretchen! Every minute was a blast, hanging out by the lake and getting to know her super cool family. The only negative of my visit was that it was too short.

When I got to Gretchen's lake house, we didn't waste a second. I jumped into my swimsuit and we got right to the water. Gretchen and her brother taught me how to water-ski. I was just starting to get used to it when I got too tired out to keep trying. To give my muscles a break, Mr. Zahm took over driving the boat and I got to watch Gretchen and Patrick water-ski for a while.

After water-skiing we went back to the house and had a delicious meal. I got to learn a lot about the area, and the history of the lake house itself. In the evening Mr. Zahm, Mrs. Zahm, Gretchen, her sister Maggie, and I went on a "stroll" around the lake in the pontoon boat. We got to wave at the neighbors sitting in their backyards and I learned more about the history of the lake.

When we got back to the house, Gretchen and I had an evening swim and caught up with each other. This dip was followed by a campfire and roasted s'mores!

Somewhere in the day we also managed to play with the family's dogs and Gretchen's new puppy; hit golf balls into the lake with Patrick; and float with Mrs. Zahm, Maggie, and the puppy on some foam rafts.

I was having such a good time with Gretchen, I never quite remembered to grab my camera. So the only pictures I have from my time there are the ones we took playing with the Photobooth program on my computer.

Sunday morning I had to hit the road pretty early, so I only had time for breakfast and a quick goodbye. Luckily, I was able to remember how much fun I had had water-skiing every time I moved for the next couple of days because my muscles were so sore ;)
